((OOC: OHMYGOD! I totally forgot about this forum. Whoops! XD So, um, Orchasm, is Aiden your character?))
Maisie sat on the chair, rubbing her temples delicately. She had a throbbing headache due to reading books all day and night, trying to find a book that would help her kickstart a good book on dragons. There were none. Groaning, she laid her head on the desk tiredly when a book caught her eye: Air Dragons. Her eyes widened as she wondered how she had missed the book and plucked it off the shelf. Skimming through the pages, she found one line that stood out. Aidan Rivers, at the age of sixteen was the first to encounter an air dragon. Her breath hitched. Aidan Rivers? Aidan Rivers, the royal guard? Squealing rather uncharacteristically, She sped out of the Grand Library and wheeled herself to the Guards' quarters when she remembered that Aidan was supposed to be out on Gate Duty. Turning, she sped out the castle and around to the front, looking for Aidan and practically hopping up and down. "Aidan Rivers, get your guardly butt down here!" She yelled excitedly.

((OOC: Yes, that is me.))
Aidan Rivers was finding today's duties to be exceptionally boring. Nothing was happening. No stealing. No duels for honor. No murder. Though he should probably be happy there were no murders today. It was just a boring day of gate duties, making sure no one got in who wasn't allowed in. No visitors had come either so he didn't even get to open the gate. He could feel his eyelids starting to get heavy when someone suddenly yelled out to him from below the gate. He jumped up in surprise and turned around quickly to see who it was. He was surprised, to say the least, when he found the oldest princess waiting down on the ground for him. He wasn't sure what she could want, but he wasn't about to ignore her. That would get him into more trouble than he wanted.
"I'll be right down" Aidan called back to her.
With that he took off at a jog over to where the stairs were and hurriedly made his way down them. He was in good shape so it only took him a couple of seconds to go down them. When he was outside again he made his way over to the princess, an inquisitive look on his face.
"So Princess, what is it that I can do for you" he asked, bowing as was custom of citizens and guards to do when speaking to royalty.

Maisie frowned as she realized what she'd just yelled out. "Guardly," She said dryly. "Isn't even a valid word in the english dictionary." Then she pulled out the book from within the cloak she'd thrown on. Flipping through the pages, she found the one she was looking for. She showed him the page with raised eyebrows. "You met an air dragon," She said calmly. "And you know that all I want is to become the first writer on dragons," He voice rose an octave higher. "And you didn't tell me?" Glaring at the guard, she frowned yet again. "That's apalling, completely and utterly apalling." Suddenly, she grinned. "I am not as anemic as you may think, Sir Rivers. I am determined to allow you to accomany me on my dragon tracking." Then, pausing, she added. "And no, I have no wish to hurt them in any way."

"I'm sorry, Princess" Aidan apologized then turned his head slightly to the side so he wasn't looking right at the princess "It must have slipped my mind."
Truthfully, it had not slipped his mind. His father had told him not to tell the princess about his encounter with the dragon for fear that she would want him to take her looking for more dragons. While he liked dragons, he knew that they could be dangerous and understood that his father did not want him getting into trouble should something happen to the princess while she was under his care. Aidan would have told her as soon as he met the dragon if his father had not forbidden him to. Now that she knew, however, it seemed he was going to have to tell her all about it and would likely have to take her out looking for them sometime in the future.
"Do you want to know anything about the dragon I met" he asked her, trying to appease her now.
He knew she would probably want to know just about everything he learned about the dragon. It was a stupid question to ask, but he was just trying to stay on her good side now. He considered her a friend and he did not want her to be mad at him for any reason.
